## What this firm publishes

ONYX Futures (Onyx Futures LLC) is a futures prop firm with an unusual structure: it sells one evaluation, and passing it opens a live account at a real broker in the firm's own name rather than a simulated funded account. There is no funded stage or second test in between. Every evaluation starts on a $100,000 account, and the plan you buy is named by its drawdown, which ONYX calls your risk budget: Starter ($1,000), Core ($1,500), Pro ($2,000) and MAX ($3,000), each with a Static or EOD floor. ONYX lists R|Trader Pro, Quantower, Sierra Chart, MultiCharts and ATAS among the Rithmic-compatible platforms traders use, with CME, CBOT, NYMEX and COMEX futures and their micros.

The ONYX Futures rules differ by floor. A Static drawdown never moves and is checked intraday, with a profit target of twice the drawdown; an EOD trailing drawdown moves up at each close, with a target of 1.75 times the drawdown. The evaluation has a daily loss limit of 40% of the drawdown, a 35% consistency rule, a minimum of 5 trading days and no time limit. Positions must be flat 2 minutes before tier one releases such as FOMC, NFP and CPI, and automated trading and overnight or weekend holds are not permitted in the evaluation. Hedging is banned everywhere, and traders can hold up to six active evaluations.

Once live, the consistency rule, daily loss limit, news restriction and holding restrictions fall away, and EAs are permitted. Each further pass credits the same live account by that plan's drawdown. The profit split is 90%, withdrawals can be requested daily with a $100 minimum and no cap, and each is approved within 24 hours and sent by ACH or bank wire, never crypto. ID and a W-9 or W-8BEN are needed first. The evaluation is a one-time fee through PayPal with no activation fee; prices are not published on the rule pages. Resets cost $89 on Static and $79 on EOD, commissions are $0.10 per contract per side, and fees are not refundable once credentials are issued.

## Frequently asked questions

### What is the ONYX Futures profit split?

90%. The rule book says you keep 90 percent of everything the live account makes and ONYX keeps 10 percent.

### How do ONYX Futures payouts work?

You can request a withdrawal every day, with a $100 minimum and no cap on the amount. Each request is reviewed by a person and approved within 24 hours, and money is sent by ACH bank transfer or domestic or international bank wire, not crypto; a photo ID and a W-9 or W-8BEN must be on file before the first withdrawal.

### What are the ONYX Futures drawdown rules?

You choose a drawdown of $1,000, $1,500, $2,000 or $3,000 and a Static or EOD floor. A Static floor stays fixed and is checked intraday and at the close; an EOD floor trails your highest closing balance and is checked at the close only. The evaluation also has a daily loss limit of 40% of the drawdown, and breaching the floor closes the account.

### Does ONYX Futures have a consistency rule?

Yes, in the evaluation only. No single day may count for more than 35% of the profit target; if one does, the target rises so the day equals 35% of it, with no penalty. The live account has no consistency rule.

### How much does an ONYX Futures evaluation cost?

The rule pages read do not state evaluation prices. Each evaluation is a one-time fee paid through PayPal, with no subscription, activation, data or platform fee; the only later charge is an optional reset at $89 on Static or $79 on EOD, and fees are not refundable once credentials are issued.

### Does ONYX Futures allow news trading?

Only on the live account. In the evaluation you must close every position at least two minutes before tier one releases such as FOMC, Non-Farm Payrolls, CPI and PPI, and holding through one is a violation.

### Does ONYX Futures allow EAs, copy trading and hedging?

Automated trading is prohibited in the evaluation and permitted on the live account. Copy trading is allowed across your own evaluation accounts, while hedging is prohibited everywhere, in one account or across several.

### How does the ONYX Futures live account work?

Passing the evaluation makes you eligible for a live account held in ONYX's name at a futures broker, which you trade under a power of attorney after meeting the founder and signing the documentation. Every further evaluation you pass credits that same live account by the plan's drawdown rather than opening another one.

### How many accounts can you have at ONYX Futures?

Up to six active evaluation accounts at once, capped by combined drawdown. However many evaluations you pass, you hold one live account.

### Which platforms does ONYX Futures use?

Execution runs on Rithmic, and any Rithmic-compatible platform works; ONYX names R|Trader Pro, Quantower, Sierra Chart, MultiCharts, ATAS and TradingView for charting. Traders sign the Non-Professional Agreement before logging in.

### Which countries are restricted at ONYX Futures?

ONYX does not accept residents of countries under comprehensive US OFAC sanctions, including Iran, North Korea, Cuba, Syria, Russia, Belarus, Myanmar, Sudan, South Sudan and Zimbabwe. From 1 October 2026 it also cannot accept traders from a market-data list that adds countries such as Afghanistan, Albania, Jordan, Libya, Somalia and Yemen.

### Is ONYX Futures legit?

ONYX Futures is operated by Onyx Futures LLC, an Illinois limited liability company, and no licence or regulation was found on the pages read. Its rule book states that "passing an evaluation does not guarantee placement: a live account is offered at the discretion of the firm and subject to broker approval", and that where the rule book differs from the Terms of Use or the live-account documentation, that document governs.
