Breakout Review: Rules, Profit Split & Payouts
Breakout is a crypto prop firm backed by Kraken, which has acquired it, and it sells only 1-step evaluations: 1-Step Classic, 1-Step Pro and 1-Step Turbo, with account sizes from $5,000 to $200,000 (Classic stops at $100,000). What Breakout leads with is payouts on demand, 24/7, an 80% profit split that can be raised to 90% at checkout, and no consistency rule, minimum trading days or time limit. Traders get 60+ markets, mostly crypto plus the Nasdaq 100 (XYZ100), the S&P 500, WTI crude oil and silver, on the Breakout Terminal or DXtrade, trading 24/7. Leverage is applied automatically and cannot be changed, up to 10x on BTC and 5x on ETH and SOL. Breakout says it has paid traders more than $60M since launch.
The Breakout challenge has one phase. Classic asks for a 10% profit target with a 6% static max drawdown, Pro 12% with 5%, and Turbo 9% with 3%. Every plan has a 3% max daily loss, recalculated each day from the balance at 00:30 UTC, not counting open positions. Touching either limit for any amount of time breaches the account, and there is no reset: a new evaluation has to be bought. The account upgrades to funded as soon as the target is hit, even with trades open. News trading and holding over weekends are allowed. The rules most likely to breach an account are the hedging limits (no hedging across accounts, and a hedge within one account only once the first position shows a large profit or loss), copying signals or other traders' ideas, strategies bought off the shelf, and sharing an account or trading from the same household, device or IP address. Evaluations and funded accounts are each capped at $200,000 combined. Trading costs 0.04% per side, plus a swap fee of 0.033% a day on open positions.
Breakout payouts are paid in USDC on Ethereum (ERC-20), with a $50 minimum after the split, and the firm says most requests are processed within hours. KYC through SumSub is not needed for the evaluation but is required before the funded account opens. Fees are not refunded, except for active evaluations when KYC is rejected. The pages read show evaluation prices, but not which account size they are for.

Is Breakout legit?
Prop Firm Pal has not verified Breakout, so this is not an endorsement: it is what the record shows. Its own pages name the operating company as Breakout Trading Group, LLC. It was founded in 2023. Its website has been active in Prop Firm Pal's monthly traffic record since November 2025, and traffic over the last three months is growing fast. It claims $60M+ paid to traders; that is its own figure, and we have not seen its payout records. Its payout policy is published, and summarised on the Payouts tab.

Breakout web traffic, month by month
Prop Firm Pal has tracked Breakout's website traffic every month since November 2025. In September 2026 the site received an estimated 1.01M visits, up 6% on the month before and up 72% over three months.
Growth of this size usually means active marketing rather than anything about payout reliability. A firm can grow quickly and still have strict rules.
These are third-party estimates of website visits, collected once a month and stored against the month they describe. They are not trader counts, funded-account numbers or revenue.

How Breakout compares in size
Measured on estimated monthly website visits for September 2026, Breakout ranks 18 of the 463 prop firms Prop Firm Pal tracks — larger than 96% of them, at roughly 1.01M visits a month.
The ranking covers every firm measured between July 2026 and September 2026, each on its own latest reading in that window. Firms last measured before July 2026 are left out rather than shown with a stale figure, so the total moves month to month.
Size is not quality. A large firm is one that markets successfully, and several of the most visited firms in this ranking have the strictest rules; some of the smallest pay out reliably to everyone who asks. What the ranking is useful for is scale — whether you are looking at an established operation or something very new.

FAQs
What is Breakout's profit split?
Breakout pays an 80% profit split on every plan. A 90/10 split can be added at checkout only, not afterwards, and lasts for the life of that account.
What are the Breakout rules for the challenge?
Every Breakout evaluation is one step with a 3% max daily loss. The profit target and static max drawdown depend on the plan: 10% and 6% on Classic, 12% and 5% on Pro, and 9% and 3% on Turbo.
How is the Breakout daily drawdown calculated?
It is 3% of the balance at 00:30 UTC, excluding open positions, recalculated every day. The max drawdown is static, set from the starting balance and never moved, and equity touching either limit breaches the account.
Does Breakout have a consistency rule?
No. Breakout says there is no consistency rule on any account, and there are no minimum trading days or time limits.
Does Breakout allow news trading?
Yes. Breakout's program rules state there is no rule or restriction on news trading, and positions may be held overnight and over weekends.
