Market Mates Review: Rules, Profit Split & Payouts
Market Mates (MarketMates) is a broker-backed prop firm. MarketMates Limited is regulated by the Financial Services Commission of Mauritius as an investment dealer, and its funded accounts run on its own A-book brokerage. It sells two products. The prop trading challenges are balance-based 1-step and 2-step evaluations in three styles, Best Mate, Scalper and Swing, with sizes from $10K to $100K on MT5 or Match-Trader and a profit split listed as 70-90%. ScaleMate is instant funding with no challenge: the trader pays a purchase fee of $500 to $5,000, trades a live account ten times that size with an 80% profit split, and can scale in ten levels to as much as $500,000.
The 1-Phase Best Mate challenge at $10K costs $99 and sets a 10% profit target, a 3% max daily loss and a 6% max loss, with no trailing drawdown and no time limit. The MarketMates help desk puts two-phase plans at 5% daily and 8% maximum loss. Daily loss is a fixed amount based on the starting balance and resets at 5:00 pm ET. Only days with at least 0.5% profit count toward minimum trading days: 5 on one-phase Best Mate and Scalper, 3 on Swing and two-phase plans. There is no consistency rule. The rules that most often catch traders are a stop-loss within 120 seconds on every trade except Scalper, 1% maximum risk per trade, five open positions at most, and style deadlines: Scalper trades close by 5:00 pm ET daily and Best Mate trades by Friday 5:00 pm ET. Unless a plan allows news trading, traders must be flat from 15 minutes before to 3 minutes after high-impact news. Hedging, martingale, grid trading and copying third-party signals are prohibited on challenge accounts; ScaleMate has a 10% max loss and no daily drawdown.
The first withdrawal is available 7 days after the first trade on a funded account, then normally daily, once the account is at least 2% in profit. Payouts run through RiseWorks, which carries out its own KYC check first. A trader may hold up to three funded accounts worth a combined $300,000. Challenge refunds apply only to certain plans and not once trading begins, and the ScaleMate fee is non-refundable. Residents of 48 listed countries and regions, including Pakistan, Kenya and Morocco, are not accepted.

Unless a plan allows news trading or MarketMates approves it in writing, positions may not be opened, closed or held from 15 minutes before to 3 minutes after high-impact news, and using more than 50% of available margin before news is prohibited on every challenge.
EAs and automated systems are allowed if used compliantly, but API connections must be registered first and third-party bots or AI tools need MarketMates pre-approval.
Copy trading is allowed only between your own funded accounts under the same name; copying third-party signals or copy traders is prohibited.
Hedging is prohibited on challenge and funded accounts, within one account or across accounts, while the ScaleMate terms allow hedging within your own account.
Martingale, doubling down and grid trading are prohibited on challenge and funded accounts, but are not prohibited on ScaleMate unless abusive.
Latency arbitrage and high-frequency trading are prohibited, and holding more than 50% of positions for under 30 seconds counts as excessive scalping on challenge and funded accounts.
The prop trading challenges have no consistency rule.
Best Mate trades must be closed by Friday 5:00 pm ET, Scalper trades by 5:00 pm ET each day, and Swing trades may be held over the weekend; weekend holding on funded accounts may need approval.

Minimum trading days count only days with at least 0.5% profit: 5 on 1-Phase Best Mate and Scalper, 3 on Swing and 2-Phase plans.
The 1-Phase Best Mate challenge has no time limit; time limits for the other challenges were not shown.
One challenge may be active at a time, with up to three funded accounts worth a combined $300,000.
Exotic FX, illiquid stocks or crypto may be restricted under specific conditions.
Accounts may not be shared or traded by another person.

Market Mates web traffic, month by month
Prop Firm Pal has tracked Market Mates's website traffic every month since November 2025. In August 2026 the site received an estimated 57.16K visits, up 23% on the month before and up 70% over three months.
Growth of this size usually means active marketing rather than anything about payout reliability. A firm can grow quickly and still have strict rules.
These are third-party estimates of website visits, collected once a month and stored against the month they describe. They are not trader counts, funded-account numbers or revenue.

How Market Mates compares in size
Measured on estimated monthly website visits for August 2026, Market Mates ranks 124 of the 477 prop firms Prop Firm Pal tracks — larger than 74% of them, at roughly 57.16K visits a month.
The ranking covers every firm measured between June 2026 and August 2026, each on its own latest reading in that window. Firms last measured before June 2026 are left out rather than shown with a stale figure, so the total moves month to month.
Size is not quality. A large firm is one that markets successfully, and several of the most visited firms in this ranking have the strictest rules; some of the smallest pay out reliably to everyone who asks. What the ranking is useful for is scale — whether you are looking at an established operation or something very new.
