Unbiased Prop Firm Data, Reviews & Comparisons

How the Pal Score works

Every ranking on this site is produced by one formula. Here it is.

The Pal Score — the short answer

The Pal Score rates a prop firm from 0 to 100 across five weighted pillars: verification (25), trader rating (30), review volume (20), web traffic (15) and profile completeness (10). It is recomputed from the database on every build, currently across 23 compared firms and 633 tracked in total. Scores are never sold, and paid placement is labelled separately and never changes the order.

The five pillars

Each pillar’s weight out of 100, read from the same constant the ranking uses.

  • Verification

    25/100

Whether a person has checked the firm’s rules, pricing and payout terms against its own documentation.

  • Trader rating

    30/100

The mean score traders give the firm across trading conditions, payout process, customer care and user friendliness.

  • Review volume

    20/100

How many traders have reviewed it, on a log scale to a ceiling of 1,000 — so a firm with 40 reviews is not treated as forty times more proven than one with a single review.

  • Web traffic

    15/100

Estimated monthly visits, on a log scale to a ceiling of one million. A proxy for how many traders actually use the firm.

  • Profile completeness

    10/100

How much of the firm’s data we hold: platforms, challenges, description, founding year and reviews.

What the score cannot see

The limits of any ranking built from published terms and trader feedback.

A score built from published terms and trader feedback cannot tell you whether a firm will still be solvent next year, whether its risk desk will find a reason to deny your payout, or whether the rules you agreed to will change after you pass. No comparison site can measure those, and one that implies it can is selling you something.

It also cannot tell you which firm suits you. A trailing drawdown is nearly irrelevant to an intraday scalper and disqualifying for a swing trader; the score treats both the same. Use it to shortlist, then read the rules.

Where a firm does not publish a figure, we record that it does not publish it. We never infer one, and a blank is never rendered as a zero — a firm that is silent about its consistency rule is not a firm without one.

How prices are compared

Two prices per firm, and why only one of them is comparable.

Every price on this site is quoted two ways. The entry price is the cheapest evaluation a firm sells at any account size — the honest “from” figure. The cost to a $100,000 funded account is what it costs to pass an evaluation at that specific size, and it is the number the rankings and comparisons use.

The second exists because the first is not comparable. A firm whose smallest account is $5,000 will always show a lower “from” price than one starting at $50,000, without being cheaper in any sense that matters. Instant funding is reported separately and never averaged into evaluation pricing — it costs several times more per $1,000 of funding because there is no challenge to pass, and comparing the two directly is a category error.

FAQs — Methodology

How the ranking is produced, and what it does not claim.

Can a prop firm pay to rank higher?

No. The Pal Score is computed from the five pillars below and nothing else. Featured placement is a paid label — it is shown as a label, it never reorders the organic ranking, and it is disclosed on every page it appears on.

What does "verified" mean on Prop Firm Pal?

A person has read the firm’s rules, pricing, drawdown model and payout terms against the firm’s own published documentation and recorded them field by field. It is a statement about our data, not a judgement about the firm — and it cannot be bought.

Why is an unverified firm ranked at all?

Because it exists and traders search for it. An unverified listing carries only what we can state accurately without a check — name, website and monthly traffic history — and says so plainly. Absence of verification is not evidence of anything.

Where do the traffic figures come from?

A third-party estimate of monthly website visits, collected once a month and stored against the month it describes rather than the date it was collected. They are estimates, and small sites carry a wide margin of error, so the score uses them on a log scale and treats the trend as the signal.

How do I report something wrong?

Email the page URL and what is wrong to the contact address on our contact page. Corrections are made against the firm’s own documentation and dated. We would rather remove a figure than leave an unverifiable one up.

What is a proprietary trading firm (prop firm)?

A proprietary trading firm, also known as a prop firm, is a company that provides traders with access to funded trading accounts. Instead of risking your own capital, you trade the firm’s funds and earn a share of the profits. Most prop firms require traders to pass an evaluation or challenge that tests consistency, risk management, and profitability before granting a funded account.

How do prop firm challenges work?

Prop firm challenges are evaluation programs where traders must meet specific profit targets while following strict risk management rules. These rules often include maximum daily drawdown, overall drawdown limits, minimum trading days, and consistency requirements.
