The Prop Trade Review: Rules, Profit Split & Payouts
thePropTrade is a forex and CFD prop firm running four programs — PayFlex (Edge 1-Step), Classic 1-Step, Classic 2-Step and Instant Funding — on its own licensed MT5, cTrader or TradeLocker, across forex, indices, metals, energy and cryptocurrency. PayFlex is the one that sets it apart: a one-time initial fee of $9.99 whatever the account size, with the activation fee payable only after the target is met, at $29 on a 5K account rising through $56, $149 and $269 to $419 on a 100K account. PayFlex also pays back 50% of the profit made during the evaluation step, added to the third payout from the funded account. Every program advertises an 80% profit split. The firm is operated by Quantelite – Fzco, registered in Dubai Silicon Oasis.
The thePropTrade rules differ by program. Classic 1-Step asks for a 12% profit target inside a 6% static maximum drawdown and a 3% daily drawdown; Classic 2-Step asks 5% then 8% inside an 8% static drawdown with 4% daily; PayFlex asks 3% with a 6% trailing lock drawdown and 3% daily; Instant Funding has no profit target and the same 6% trailing lock. Daily drawdown is balance-based, measured from the previous day's end-of-day balance and reset at 21:00 UTC, and breaching it closes the account. There is no time limit, but Classic accounts need three profitable days of at least 0.5% each. The rules that most often catch traders are the Equity Protector, which auto-closes all positions at 3% floating loss (1% on Instant Funding) and turns a third soft breach into account closure, a 70% margin overexposure limit, a 3% risk cap per trade idea (1% on Instant Funding), a 120-second minimum holding time and the 5-minute news window.
Payouts are on demand on PayFlex and Instant Funding once the TPT Score is 25% or below. Classic 1-Step pays 14 calendar days after the first funded trade and then every 7 days, Classic 2-Step every 14 days. The minimum is $100 of net profit, requests are processed within 3 business days, and payment is by Skrill, Neteller or USDT, USDC and BTC. KYC is required before trading a funded account. The evaluation fee is refunded with the third funded payout, and Instant Funding fees are not refundable. Apart from the PayFlex fee table, prices are not published outside the checkout.

The Prop Trade web traffic, month by month
Prop Firm Pal has tracked The Prop Trade's website traffic every month since November 2025. In August 2026 the site received an estimated 20.48K visits, down 42% on the month before and down 69% over three months.
Its busiest month on record was May 2026 at roughly 65.82K visits. Traffic now is 69% below that peak.
A fall of this size over a quarter is the pattern that most often precedes a firm winding down, though it is not proof of it on its own — marketing spend, seasonality and a single lost traffic source all produce the same shape. It is worth weighing before paying for an evaluation.
These are third-party estimates of website visits, collected once a month and stored against the month they describe. They are not trader counts, funded-account numbers or revenue.

How The Prop Trade compares in size
Measured on estimated monthly website visits for August 2026, The Prop Trade ranks 188 of the 477 prop firms Prop Firm Pal tracks — larger than 61% of them, at roughly 20.48K visits a month.
The ranking covers every firm measured between June 2026 and August 2026, each on its own latest reading in that window. Firms last measured before June 2026 are left out rather than shown with a stale figure, so the total moves month to month.
Size is not quality. A large firm is one that markets successfully, and several of the most visited firms in this ranking have the strictest rules; some of the smallest pay out reliably to everyone who asks. What the ranking is useful for is scale — whether you are looking at an established operation or something very new.

FAQs
What is thePropTrade's profit split?
thePropTrade advertises an 80% profit split to the trader on all four programs. PayFlex accounts also pay back 50% of the profit made during the evaluation step, added to the third payout request from the same funded account.
How much does a thePropTrade challenge cost?
Only the PayFlex prices are published outside the checkout. PayFlex costs a one-time initial fee of $9.99 for any account size, then an activation fee paid only after passing: $29 on a 5K account, $56 on 10K, $149 on 25K, $269 on 50K and $419 on 100K. Classic and Instant Funding prices are not published on the pages read.
What are thePropTrade's drawdown rules?
Classic 1-Step has a 6% static maximum drawdown with a 3% daily limit, and Classic 2-Step an 8% static drawdown with 4% daily. PayFlex and Instant Funding both use a 6% trailing lock drawdown that rises with the balance and locks at the starting balance, with a 3% daily limit. Daily drawdown is balance-based, taken from the previous day's end-of-day balance and recalculated at 21:00 UTC.
Does thePropTrade have a consistency rule?
Not on the Classic programs — thePropTrade states there is no consistency rule on Classic 1-Step or Classic 2-Step accounts. Instant Funding and PayFlex Edge funded accounts instead need a TPT Score of 25% or below to request a payout, calculated as the largest winning day plus the largest losing day divided by total profit. A higher score blocks the payout but does not breach the account.
How do thePropTrade payouts work?
PayFlex and Instant Funding payouts are on demand once the eligibility criteria are met. Classic 1-Step pays 14 calendar days after the first trade on the funded account and then every 7 calendar days, and Classic 2-Step every 14 calendar days. The minimum is $100 of net profit, requests are processed within 3 business days, and Classic payouts also need three profitable days of 0.5%.
