Maximum Daily Drawdown
- •
The daily loss limit is calculated at 5pm EST each day. The higher figure of either your account balance or equity at that reset time is taken, and 3% or 4% of your initial balance is subtracted from it to set the next day's floor. The exact percentage depends on your account type: Instant and some funded models use 3%, while evaluation and other funded models use 4%. If your equity drops below this level at any point during the trading day, your account is breached.
Maximum Trailing Drawdown
- •
The max drawdown trails from your highest closing trade balance at either 5%, 6%, 8%, or 10% depending on your account type. Once your account profits reach the trailing threshold from your starting balance, the drawdown stops moving and locks in permanently at your initial balance. A fixed 1% buffer is also applied once the drawdown locks, preventing you from withdrawing your entire profit and breaching the account.
News Trading Restriction on Funded Accounts
- •
On all funded accounts, you cannot open or close any position within 5 minutes before or after any red folder news event. This also applies to FOMC speeches and statements. Any profits from trades that breach this window are removed automatically, though the account itself is not failed for a first offence. News trading is permitted freely during evaluation phases.
Guardian Shield
- •
If your open trade PnL reaches a 1% loss of initial balance (Instant and Guardian X) or 2% loss (evaluation-based funded accounts), the Guardian Shield will automatically close all open positions. This counts as a soft breach and you can resume trading immediately. However, if you trigger it twice, your account is permanently breached. On the first breach, your profit split is also reduced to 50%.
Consistency Rule
- •
This rule applies to Instant Funded accounts at 20% (15% for $300k and $400k accounts), Instant Funded Starter at 15%, Guardian X at 20%, and 2 Step Pro funded stage at 25%. If one day's profit hits or exceeds the applicable percentage of your total earnings that period, you cannot request a payout until you have traded enough to bring that day's share below the limit. Your account will not be breached for this, you simply must continue trading.
Minimum Trading Days
- •
Depending on the account type, you must record between 3 and 5 profitable trading days per phase, where at least 0.5% profit is achieved on each qualifying day. Days do not need to be consecutive. There is no maximum time limit on any program.
Minimum Trade Holding Time
- •
Any trade closed in under 2 minutes may be flagged as tick scalping, which is a prohibited strategy. This applies across all account types and phases.
Prohibited Trading Strategies
- •
The following are strictly prohibited: tick scalping, high-frequency trading, latency arbitrage, reverse arbitrage, hedge arbitrage, use of delayed data feeds, trading on frozen or delayed charts, and emulators. Traders are expected to trade accounts as though they are live. Any account found using strategies that generate risk-free profits by exploiting the demo environment will be closed immediately, whether in evaluation or funded stage.
No Gambling or Overleveraging
Margin usage exceeding 80% on any running trade is classified as gambling and is not permitted.
- •
permitted.
- •
Strategies that rely on all-or-nothing outcomes, excessive margin usage, or single-trade reckless exposure are banned. This includes account rolling behaviour where traders repeatedly blow accounts with the same high-risk approach. Accounts found using these strategies will be terminated.
Inactivity Rule
- •
This rule applies from the moment your account is created. If 30 days pass without a single trade, the account is considered inactive and will be permanently breached. There is no grace period.
Payout 24-Hour Guarantee
- •
This guarantee applies Monday to Friday. Weekends and bank holidays may result in slightly longer processing. The guarantee does not apply if delays are caused by compliance checks, risk reviews, or failure to complete onboarding with Riseworks on your end.
