Daily loss limit

  • The daily loss limit is 5% on the 1 Step and 2 Step and 3% on Instant Funding. Floating losses, closed losses and trading costs all count, and crossing the limit even for a few seconds breaches the account; a later recovery does not reverse it.

Trailing drawdown

  • The 1 Step uses an 8% maximum drawdown (10% with the checkout add-on) that trails the highest balance until the floor reaches the starting balance, then locks. Instant Funding uses a 5% trailing maximum drawdown measured on equity, so open positions can breach it.

Static drawdown

  • The 2 Step uses an 8% non-trailing maximum drawdown that is equity-based and stays fixed against the starting balance. On a $100,000 account the breach floor is $92,000 however far the account runs into profit.

Consistency rule

  • On the 2 Step, no single trading day may account for more than 35% of total profit while the consistency metric is active. Instant Funding and the 1 Step have no consistency rule.

Minimum trading days

  • The 2 Step requires at least 3 separate trading days with 0.5% profit before a phase can be passed. The 1 Step and Instant Funding have no minimum trading days and no time limit.

Minimum trade duration

  • Every trade on Instant Funding, 1 Step and 2 Step, in both the evaluation and funded stages, must stay open for at least 2 minutes.

News trading rules

  • News trading is allowed during evaluations. On funded accounts, profits from trades opened or closed within 3 minutes before or 3 minutes after a high-impact news release may be removed; the account is not automatically terminated.

Instant withdrawal cap

  • Each Instant Funding payout is capped at 2% of the starting balance, above a 3% minimum withdrawal buffer. On request all profit above the buffer leaves the account and anything above the cap is deducted but not paid out.

Inactivity rule

  • The detailed GFN rules state that at least one qualifying trade should be placed within 30 days. Requesting a payout does not count as trading activity.

Maximum allocation

  • Total simulated capital is capped at $400,000 across all GFN accounts combined, and programme types can be mixed within that limit. Creating extra profiles to get around the cap is prohibited.

Prohibited trading

  • Latency arbitrage, exploiting stale or incorrect prices, coordinated trading, account sharing, third-party challenge-passing services and opposite-position hedging across accounts are prohibited. GFN may reject progression or payouts or terminate the affected accounts.

Copy trading and EAs

  • An EA you built yourself and copying between accounts you personally own may be permitted. Copying another trader or letting someone manage your account is prohibited, and third-party systems marketed to pass prop firm challenges may be prohibited.
