Totals use each firm’s published fees. “Not listed” means the firm publishes no such fee for the plan: a missing reset is priced as buying the plan again, and a missing activation fee is left out of the total. Firm names link to each firm’s futures profile for its rules.
FAQs - Futures Prop Firm Costs
Monthly fees, activation fees, resets and how to compare what futures prop firms really cost.
More than the sticker price, usually. The real cost is the evaluation fee for every billing cycle you spend in it, plus a reset fee or a fresh purchase for each failed attempt, plus any activation fee when you pass. At 50K the lowest monthly fee we list is $49 (Topstep, Trading Combine 50K (Standard Path)), so three months and one reset costs several times that. Set your own months and resets above to see the total for every firm.
Many futures firms bill their evaluation like a subscription: it renews every cycle until you pass or cancel. Across the 28 verified futures firms we list (281 priced plans), 10 sell at least one monthly plan and 21 sell at least one one-time plan. A monthly plan is cheaper if you pass in the first month and more expensive every month after; a one-time plan costs the same however long you take - the lowest one-time 50K price we list is $53 (SHARK Futures, LITE 50K).
An activation fee is a one-off charge when you pass the evaluation and move to the funded (or sim-funded) account. 27 of the 281 plans we list charge one, from $67 to $247, and 89 list it as zero. Some firms sell the same account two ways - a cheaper evaluation with an activation fee, or a dearer one without - so compare totals, not the headline price. Where a firm lists no activation fee at all, the table marks the total as excluding it.
Usually to reset, when the firm offers one. A reset puts the account back to its starting balance for a fee that is normally below the plan price - across the 110 plans with a listed reset fee, the median reset costs 61% of one cycle's fee. Where no reset fee is listed, the calculator prices a failed attempt as buying the plan again, which is what you would have to do.
It depends on how long you take. A low monthly fee wins if you pass quickly; a one-time plan wins if you expect to need several months, and resets change the order again. Pick your account size and expected months in the comparison table - it re-sorts every plan by total cost to get funded, cheapest first.
Be honest about your pass rate. Enter the months you expect to take and the resets you expect to need, not the best case, then compare totals at your account size. After cost, check the rules that decide whether you pass at all - the drawdown type, daily loss limit and consistency rule - on each firm's profile.

FAQs - Prop Trading Questions Answered
Answers on prop firms, funded accounts, challenges and how our platform works
To save money on a funded trading account, traders can use verified prop firm discount codes available on Prop Firm Pal. By applying these promo codes during checkout, traders reduce the cost of evaluation challenges. Combining structured comparisons with active discounts helps traders choose competitive programs while lowering upfront costs.
Prop trading is generally legal in most countries, but the regulatory status of specific prop firms can vary. Some jurisdictions have introduced rules affecting how prop firms operate or market their services. Certain prop firms also restrict access to traders in specific countries. Prop Firm Pal includes restricted country information on individual firm pages so you can quickly check whether a firm is available to traders in your region.
Yes, most prop firms charge a one-time challenge fee to enter an evaluation program. This fee typically ranges from around $50 for smaller account sizes to several hundred dollars for larger funded accounts. The fee covers access to the evaluation environment. If you pass, some firms refund the challenge fee with your first payout. Firms offering free challenges are rare and often compensate by taking a larger profit split or applying stricter conditions.
The best prop firm for futures trading will offer access to CME or exchange-listed contracts, clear rules around leverage and contract limits, and a payout structure suitable for high-frequency or systematic futures strategies. Futures prop firms often operate differently from forex-focused ones, with different fee structures and account types. Prop Firm Pal includes futures-focused firms in its comparisons so you can evaluate which programs support your preferred instruments and trading approach.
Each prop firm page on Prop Firm Pal includes a detailed company overview, evaluation rules, profit targets, drawdown limits, profit split information, available account sizes, trading instruments, restricted countries, FAQs, and user reviews. We aim to provide everything a trader needs to evaluate a funded trading program in one place.
